October 14, 2020 03:44 PM

Despite repeated reminders, the Pakistan Embassy in Washington is not providing the details of its expenses for audit purposes after which the matter has been raised with the Foreign Office, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Among other heads, the officials from the office of the Auditor General of Pakistan had sought details of money spent on the Aafia Siddiqui's case and the payment made in connection with the rented buildings and vehicles.

The report says the details of expenses incurred in connection with the Aafia Siddiqui case as well as other costs should be provided at the earliest.

Moreover, the auditors in their report for the year 2019-20 also sought the receipts concerning the taxes related to the old embassy building, expenditures and rent.

Earlier, the department accounts committee too in its meeting held on January 2 this year had sought the relevant record from the Foreign Office.
