IHC orders PTI leaders to join FIA probe into foreign funding

Directing the PTI leaders Tariq Shafi and Faisal Maqbool Sheikh to join the probe being conducted by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in the prohibited funding case, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday granted protective bails to them until October 21, 2022 in lieu of surety bonds of Rs10,000 each, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During the hearing of petitions filed by the PTI leaders, seeking court order to the FIA not to arrest them, Justice Muhsin Akhtar Kiani of the IHC also barred the FIA from arresting them.
A case had been registered against the PTI leaders under the Foreign Exchange Act.
