Thrilling 3–3 draw between Pakistan and India in Sultan of Johor Junior Hockey Cup

The much-anticipated clash between Pakistan and India in the ongoing Sultan of Johor Junior Hockey Cup ended in a thrilling 3–3 draw, after a fast-paced and fiercely contested encounter at Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Pakistan took an early lead in the fourth minute when captain Hanan Shahid converted a penalty stroke, giving his side a 1–0 advantage that lasted through the first quarter. The second quarter saw both teams defend tightly, preventing any change to the scoreline. 

The game picked up intensity in the third quarter, as Sufyan Khan doubled Pakistan’s lead in the 38th minute by converting a penalty corner.

However, India quickly responded — Arjit Singh reduced the deficit through a penalty stroke just four minutes later.

The quarter ended with Pakistan leading 2–1.

In the final quarter, India mounted a strong comeback.

They first equalized and then took the lead in the 52nd minute, courtesy of Manmeet Singh, making it 3–2 in India’s favor.

But Pakistan refused to back down — just three minutes later, Sufyan Khan struck again with a stunning field goal, bringing the score level at 3–3, where it remained until full time.

Both teams showcased exceptional skill, speed, and resilience, keeping the spectators on edge throughout the match.

Pakistan will next face New Zealand in their upcoming fixture of the tournament.
