September 14, 2021 11:13 PM

A no-trust motion against Balochistan Chief Minister Jamal Kamal has been filed in the assembly secretariat.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the motion was submitted on behalf of 16 lawmakers from opposition parties.

Reportedly, differences between groups of Balochistan Assembly Speaker Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo and Chief Minister Jam Kamal have been intensifying for quite some time.

The tension escalated last month when Bizenjo made remarks against Jam and expressed reservations during Assembly proceedings. His action prompting a strong reaction from the incumbent members of the provincial government.

CM Kamal called a meeting of his allies to take action against the speaker and bring a no-confidence motion against him. In a statement, the chief minister said: "He (the assembly speaker) should pay attention to his constituency where he has not visited even once in three years. Anyone who can't run their own constituency or Assembly should keep their childish advice to himself and focus on his work instead.”
