Ishaq Dar lands in Doha ahead of emergency Arab-Islamic summit

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has arrived in Doha to participate in crucial diplomatic engagements, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Ishaq Dar was received at the airport by the Pakistani ambassador to Qatar and the Permanent Representative of the OIC upon his arrival.

The deputy prime minister will lead Pakistan’s delegation at the Foreign Ministers’ meeting, which precedes the emergency Arab-Islamic summit called in response to the recent regional crisis.

The meeting of Arab and Islamic foreign ministers will deliberate on the Israeli attack against a Gulf state and is expected to table a formal resolution on the matter.

Officials revealed that the foreign ministers’ gathering will also finalise the agenda for the upcoming Arab-Islamic summit.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to take part in that summit on behalf of Pakistan.
