One dead, four injured in tribal clash in Orakzai

One person died and four became seriously injured when a clash erupted between Khawa Sutri tribe and the Mashti tribe over a land dispute in Orakzai, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

District Police Officer (DPO) Shoukat Ali said that after receiving the report of clash, heavy contingents of police rushed to the spot and shifted the dead and injured persons to the local hospital.

He further said that both sides agreed on a ceasefire.

Earlier in July 2025, at least eight security men were martyred and several others injured in two back-to-back attacks in the Orakzai tribal district.

While there was no official word from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) or other law enforcement agencies, reports suggested security personnel clashed with assailants in the Ghunda Mela area.

At least three militants were also killed in the engagement.

The district is sandwiched between Khyber’s densely forested Tirah valley and Kurram.
