FIA offloads two Umrah-beggars at Multan Airport

In a major operation, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration Cell arrested a man and a woman who were going to Saudi Arabia for begging under the guise of performing Umrah at Multan International Airport, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

According to the details, both passengers were residents of Lodhran, and they were going to depart for Saudi Arabia on flight No. PF-702 for begging on Umrah Visa.

The passengers were later identified as Waqas Ahmad and Najma Bibi.

Both passengers were in contact with the three agents for immigration clearance purposes. Both passengers had also travelled to Saudi Arabia previously.

The income sources and their travel agents do not match their statement. Both the accused were later sifted to the FIA Human Trafficking Cell for identification of agents and completion of other legal formalities.

FIA Immigration Cell continued strict screening at Multan International Airport to thwart such kind of attempts. The documents of all the passengers who were going abroad were being checked thoroughly.

The FIA said that strict action will continue against the people who were using Umrah visas for the purpose of begging.
