Saudi-bound travellers get vaccination deadline extension

Travellers heading to Saudi Arabia for visits or Umrah can travel without the newly required vaccination certificates until September 25 after authorities extended the implementation deadline.

The vaccination requirement had earlier been scheduled to take effect from September 14.

The Pakistan Airport Authority issued a notification extending the deadline for mandatory vaccination certificates for Saudi-bound passengers.

The Government of Pakistan had introduced the requirement following directives from the Saudi government.

The four vaccines covered by the requirement are meningitis, influenza, polio and yellow fever.

Travellers visiting Saudi Arabia for Umrah or other visits will therefore be able to travel without these certificates until September 25, after which the requirement is expected to take effect.
