Imran Khan files petition in LHC against 121 cases
Requested an order to stop proceedings in registered cases against him
The former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday filed a petition in the Lahore High Court (LHC) against the registration of cases against him across the country, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
Federal Secretary for the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Law, Ministry of Defense, and Secretary Cabinet Division were made parties in the application.
Likewise, the Punjab Chief Secretary, Home Department Secretary, IG Punjab, Anti-Corruption Establishment DG, NAB, and FIA are also parties in the petition.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan, PEMRA, and Election Commission have also been made parties in the petition.
It is contended that 121 FIRs have so far been registered against PTI chief Imran Khan across the country. These cases have been registered in Quetta, Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore.
He submitted the court to pass an order to stop the proceedings in the registered cases against the him and workers till the decision of this application.
The petition pleaded that the anchors and journalists who support PTI’s point of view are threatened.
Similarly, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf supporters are being detained and arrested by the caretaker government.
It is prayed that the court should declare the measures of arrests, detentions, and disappearances of the workers against fundamental rights.
The petitioner contended that the court should issue directions to stop disciplinary action in the cases already filed against PTI leaders and activists.
The court should issue an order to stop criminal proceedings without notice, he submitted.
