Cop injured as polio team attacked in Hangu

A policemen became injured when some unknown armed assailants opened fire on a polio team in Hangu district of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, reported 24News HD TV Channel on Wednesday
The injured policeman was later identified as Anas. Soon after receiving the report, a police team rushed to the spot and started a search operation to apprehend the accused.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mujahid Hussain said that the search operation is continuing at the mountainous areas of Hangu.
A police constable was martyred and four others were injured in an attack on a law enforcement party en route to provide security for polio teams in the Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the country launched its second nationwide polio vaccination campaign of the year.
The incident took place in Hangu’s Thall tehsil on the first day of the nationwide campaign, which is running from April 13 to 19.
The attack marks this year’s first on law enforcement personnel deployed for the security of polio teams.
