Honour killing: Girl shot dead by uncles in Khairpur, five suspects arrested
Police in Khairpur have arrested five suspects, including two uncles, in connection with the killing of a young girl in what authorities say was carried out over allegations of so-called “honour”.
According to officials, the case has been formally registered and investigations have made significant progress following the arrests. The incident, which has shocked the local community, reportedly involved the victim being shot dead by her maternal uncles.
A video of the killing has circulated on social media, showing the girl pleading for her life before being fatally shot. Eyewitness accounts suggest that several people were present at the scene, but no one intervened to stop the attack.
Police confirmed that all five suspects are now in custody and further investigations are under way to determine the full circumstances of the crime.
Reacting to the incident, Nafeesa Shah expressed deep sorrow and condemned the killing, calling for justice to be served.
