Senate rights body summons top officials over Sarang Joyo s disappearance

Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar has called a meeting of the committee on August 17.
The committee has summoned the NAB chairman and Sindh Police inspector general in connection with the disappearance of Sarang Joyo. The chairman of NAB has been summoned in his capacity as chairman of the commission on missing persons.
Justice (Retired) Javed Iqbal and the Sindh Police IG have been asked to brief the Senate committee with regard to kidnapping of Sarang Joyo. Officials from Balochistan have also been summoned to brief the committee about the recent tragic incident in Chaman.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari too has directed his party’s Senator Khokhar to raise the issue of disappearance of Sarang Joyo, a human rights activist.
