A callous father was arrested and his two daughters recovered as police in Swabi foiled an attempt to sell the two, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Kalu Khan Police Station SHO Munsaf Khan said Hidayatullah had agreed to sell his own innocent girls through a pimp named Mumtaz for Rs350,000.
The accused was preparing to hand them over to Mumtaz for shifting them to Punjab, he added, as the two girls have been identified as Asma, 12, and Husna, 10.
In this connection, Mumtaz had already collected an amount of Rs50,000 as advance from the prospective buyer as they were hoping to get the remaining money after transporting the girls to Punjab.
However, the area SHO received the information about the move being planned in Dagai village of the Shewa area.
As a result, the police raided the house of Hidayatullah and managed to arrest him while recovering the two girls safely.
Meanwhile, the police are conducting raids to capture Mumtaz who is still on the run.
