PDM candidates to challenge Imran Khan’s candidature from respective by-polls constituencies

August 15, 2022 04:17 PM

The candidates of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), bracing themselves for the upcoming by-election on nine seats of the National Assembly, that had been vacated after the acceptance of resignations of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNAs, are set to challenge the candidature of their sole opponent Imran Khan, who has declared to contest the by-election from the nine constituencies alone.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the candidates of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and those of other parties forming a coalition government in the centre, will submit their objections to the nomination papers of Imran Khan in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) between August 17 and August 20.

“Objections will be filed against Imran Khan for concealing assets and not being honest and trustworthy,” the informed sources have said.

“The ECP’s decision on the prohibited funding case against the PTI will also be made part of the objections. Moreover, objections will also be lodged against Imran Khan under Article 62 (1) (F),” they have added.

It has also been learnt that the candidates of PML-N, and those of the PDM, will file objections to the nomination papers of Imran Khan from their respective constituencies. The legal advisers of the PML-N, and those of the coalition government, have completed the work in this regard.
