Brad Pitt buys $12m Hollywood Hills mansion from The Killers guitarist

Brad Pitt has expanded his property portfolio with the purchase of a $12 million mansion in the exclusive Hollywood Hills, according to the Wall Street Journal. The six-bedroom, eight-bathroom estate was previously owned by Dave Keuning, lead guitarist of the American rock band The Killers.

The 61-year-old Oscar winner reportedly closed the deal on August 5, the same day he suffered the loss of his mother, Jane Etta Pitt, who passed away at the age of 84. The home had originally been listed for $13.99 million in June, meaning Pitt secured it for a lower price.

The purchase comes just two months after a burglary at Pitt’s Los Feliz residence in June. Authorities have since arrested three suspects believed to be connected to the incident.

Located in the sought-after Outpost Estates community, the Spanish-style home spans 8,385 square feet and offers sweeping views of Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean. Built in 1989, the property blends modern features with classic design. Its kitchen boasts marble countertops, a large island, and an open layout leading into a spacious living area.

The second floor includes a balcony overlooking the backyard, which features an outdoor swimming pool, a barbecue and kitchen area, and ample lounge space. The interior showcases arched ceilings, wooden floors, and a marble-finished bathroom, while a brick pathway leads to the home’s grand entrance.

This acquisition adds to Pitt’s long list of high-profile real estate deals. In 2023, he sold a Los Feliz mansion for $33 million to philanthropist Aileen Getty, later purchasing another property in the same neighbourhood for $5.5 million. The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor is also known to spend time at his $40 million coastal home in Carmel, California, where he has been seen with his partner, jewellery executive Ines de Ramon.
