Cancer survivor Arij Fatyma urges regular health check-ups
Arij Fatyma Jafri is calling on the public to make healthcare a top priority, stressing the importance of early detection in saving lives.
In an Instagram post, the Meri Beti star urged her followers to schedule annual blood tests and pay close attention to any unusual signs or symptoms.
"We all need to make our health a top priority. Make sure to get your annual blood tests so we can catch any small or big changes in our bodies on time. If you notice any signs or symptoms, do not ignore them. 'Desi remedies' may sometimes help, but they are not always enough. Some illnesses can only be treated with proper medical care," the cancer survivor said.
A few days ago, Arij publicly shared her battle with choriocarcinoma; a rare and highly aggressive form of cancer that can develop after a molar pregnancy. The disease spreads rapidly through the body and is often detected too late, but in her case, it was caught early.
"I had very few symptoms but still chose to get checked, which may have saved my life," she revealed. "Alhamdulillah, I am blessed to be living what feels like a second life. This illness was written in my destiny, yet Allah helped me overcome it and brought me closer to Him in ways I can never thank Him enough for."
While celebrating her recovery, Arij acknowledged that the possibility of recurrence keeps her grounded and mindful of life’s fragility.
"The thought of it coming back reminds me of death and makes me live more intentionally. In those moments, nothing matters more than your family and how you will stand before God," she reflected.
The actress’s candid post not only detailed her journey but also carried a message of urgency for others: "Please educate yourself. Don’t take your health lightly. Get yourself checked regularly."
