Details of pension, benefits received by CJP after retirement come to light
Details of the pension and benefits received by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court after retirement have come to light, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
In a written reply to the Senate session, the Law Ministry said that in 2010, the pension of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court after his retirement was Rs560,000, which gradually increased to Rs2.39 million in 2024.
In 2011, this amount was Rs644,000 while in 2012 it was Rs773,000 and in 2013 it was Rs850,000.
In 2014 it was Rs935,000, in 2015 it was Rs105,000 while in 2016 it was Rs115,000 and in 2017 it was Rs1217,000.
In 2018 pension was Rs1338,000 while in 2021 it was Rs1452,000, and in 2023 it was Rs1657,000.
The Law Ministry also outlined incentives for the widow of the Chief Justice, including a driver, a maid, Rs3,000 per month for local telephone calls, Rs2,000 per month for electricity, free water, 300 liters of petrol per month and exemption from income tax.
