Punjab to borrow Rs34b from ADB to establish STEM labs in schools
The Punjab government will establish 2,000 Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) labs in schools by taking a loan of Rs34 billion, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
A loan of Rs34 billion will be taken from the Asian Development Bank for the establishment of labs in Punjab.
The Punjab government has approved taking a loan from the Asian Development Bank.
These labs will be established in more than 2000 government schools in Punjab. The labs will be established in high schools and secondary schools.
Students will be able to gain a deeper understanding of scientific subjects in the labs.
According to authorities, the quality of education in government schools will be further improved by equipping the labs with modern technology.
Authorities said these labs are being established on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
