Poor prosecution raises questions in disabled girl’s rape case in Lahore
No progress has been made in the rape case of a mentally-challenged girl in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to details, the Prosecutor-General of Punjab had declared the case as ‘high profile’ soon after assuming the charge.
However, the investigation officer has miserably failed to appear in the court along with the complete record of the case.
Sources said that despite the non-appearance of the investigation officer, the prosecution failed to take any comprehensive action in the case.
The absence of the investigation officer raised many questions on the performance of the investigation officer.
Practical measures remained limited in the case designated as high-profile, raising concerns over ineffective prosecution in the case.
