China Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority (CPECA) Chairman Asim Saleem Bajwa said on Tuesday that the work on the CPEC projects is being carried out with a lightning speed, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Asim Saleem Bajwa said China’s One Belt, One Road project will strengthen regional connectivity and alleviate poverty. He was addressing a webinar at the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI).

The CPECA chairman said thousands of people have fallen into poverty due to the coronavirus pandemic globally but China is the only country whose economic performance is better than others. 

Saleem Bajwa said China is already thinking and working on sharing the prosperity model with the world even before the coronavirus hit the world. He said work on CPEC is going on at lightning speed and One Belt, One Road project will improve regional connectivity and reduce poverty.

In the same webinar hosted by the SDPI, State Bank of Pakistan Governor Dr Raza Baqir shared Pakistan's economic outlook as shown in this video which has been divided into pre-Covid, during COVID and current periods.

Dr Reza Baqir said that the current outlook shows that macro balances are expected to improve.
