There was a moment of embarrassment for Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) Shahbaz Gill on the eve of Lahore College for Women University’s convocation where he was the chief guest when a PhD student refused to receive a degree from him, reported 24NewsHd TV channel.
According to details, Dr Fauzia, an associate professor and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) student, rejected to receive a degree from Shehbaz Gill saying he was not eligible to be the chief guest on such an auspicious occasion.
LCWU had invited SAPM as Chief Guest on the second day of the 16th convocation ceremony.
It is pertinent to mention here that the associate professor of political science at Samanabad College was supposed to receive the PhD degree from Shahbaz while she tweeted her opinion of not receiving it from him.
In the tweet, she stated that Shahbaz Gill does not deserve to be considered as Chief Guest of the convocation ceremony, therefore she will not receive her PhD degree from SAPM.
In response to the associate professor’s tweet, the Prime Minister’s aide said that Pakistan is a democratic country where every citizen holds the right of sharing their perspective. He went on to add that Dr Fauzia is a relative of Saad Rafique.
