Pakistani stars shine at Eastern Eye Global Asian Celebrity list
Pakistani stars have been making waves internationally, and it's incredible to see their talent being acknowledged.
Every year, Eastern Eye releases a Global Asian Stars List, and this year, our five Pakistani stars are included into it.
The list has been curated by journalist Asjad Nazir, who emphasizes the talents' worldwide influence in the entertainment industry.
The list published by the prestigious Eastern Eye newspaper, honors individuals who have excelled in a variety of fields, including film, music, literature, television, and social media, based on their outstanding work, breaking boundaries, fan attention, and inspirational contributions over the course of the year.
The Pakistani winner this year is Wahaj Ali who has managed to bag a spot in the top 10 for the Eastern Eye list.
- Wahaj Ali
Wahaj Ali stood out and made it into the top 10 for 2023 because of his broad appeal, especially because of his portrayal of Murtasim Khan in "Tere Bin." Notably, the popularity of Pakistani entertainment is acknowledged worldwide by Wahaj Ali, who has a sizable fan base in India.
He is the only Pakistani in the top 10 for the year 2023.
- Riz Ahmed
Riz Ahmed is a star from Pakistani origin who has worked a lot for Muslim representation in Hollywood, he took the 11th position with his ground-breaking roles that won praise from all over the world.
- Arooj Aftab
Arooj Aftab, the Grammy Award winner, is also listed in the celebrity list. She is placed at position 24. Pakistani vocalist Arooj Aftab is located in Brooklyn.
She is a Pakistani vocalist, composer, and music producer. In 2018, she was also the recipient of news and documentary Emmy awards. She has also dabbled in other musical genres, such as jazz and neo-sufi.
- Yumna Zaidi
The leading lady of "Tere Bin," Yumna Zaidi, thrilled her supporters by placing 32nd. Yumna Zaidi has done great dramas like Bakhtawar, Parizaad and Dar Si Jati hai Silah.
- Ahad Raza Mir
Ahad Raza Mir, who came in at number 42, is well-known for a variety of roles, including his Netflix debut and his work on "Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo," Pakistan's very first Netflix series. While Ahad has also worked in series of Resident Evil.
