Hate speech against ex-CJP: ATC awards 10-year jail term to Pir Zaheer-ul-Hassan Shah 

Anti-Terrorism Court Lahore has granted 10 years imprisonment to Pir Zaheer-ul-Hassan Shah in a case of inciting the murder of a high-ranking judicial figure (former Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa), reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Monday. 

ATC Judge Arshad Javed announced the verdict of the case and ordered that Pir Zahirul Hassan Shah should be shifted to jail. 

Earlier, the accused was produced in court from jail for final hearing and verdict. During the trial, 15 witnesses of the case recorded their testimonies. Deputy Prosecutor Abdul Jabbar Dogar requested for punishment of the accused. Rana Maqsood-ul-Haq Advocate made the final argument on behalf of the accused. The accused's lawyer did not completely deny the truth of the allegations. 

A case was registered against the paper Zaheer-ul-Hassan Shah at Qila Gujjar Singh police station. The accused made a hate speech against a high-ranking judicial figure near Shimla Pahari Lahore and incited workers of a religious party to kill the former Chief Justice in 2024. The accused had announced a reward of Rs 10 million for the killer of the former chief justice.
