Pakistan sees gradual decline in coronavirus cases, deaths
Pakistan is seeing a gradual decline in new coronavirus cases and virus-related deaths during the current second wave of the deadly disease.
The country reported 1,048 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours (Sunday), the latest data from the National Command and Control (NCOC) shows.
There were 26 more causalities related to the deadly disease as death toll due to coronavirus has reached 12,333 that represents a ratio of 2.2%.
According to the latest figures, 1,048 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 32,019 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 564,077 that returned positive after conducting 8,466,117 total tests so far.
The number of active cases in the country has reduced to 25,747 with 1,680 patients in critical condition.
There were 910 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 525,997 with a 93.2% recovery rate.
Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 435 new cases in last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 164,268 with 7,321 active cases. In Punjab, 14 more patients died of coronavirus as the death toll reached 5,051. With 345 new recoveries, 151,896 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.
The most affected province Sindh has recorded 251 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 253,762 with 14,073 active cases. In Sindh, 7 more patients died of the deadly disease as the death toll reached 4,219. With 327 new recoveries, 235,470 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 212 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 69,990 with 2,349 active cases. The province reported 4 new virus-related deaths as the death toll reached 1,995. With 126 new recoveries, 65,646 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Balochistan has recorded another 13 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 18,942 with 88 active cases. The province reported no new death as the death toll remained at 199. With 17 new recoveries, 18,655 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Islamabad has recorded 98 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 42,688 with 1,402 active cases. With one new death reported in the Federal Capital as the virus death toll reached 486. With 64 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 40,800 in the federal capital so far.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir
Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 39 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 9,487 with 481 active cases. With no new death reported, the death toll remains at 281. There were 31 new recoveries in the AJK as 8,725 patients have recovered so far from the virus.
Gilgit-Baltistan recorded no new case during the last 24 hours, as the tally remains at 4,940 with 33 active cases. No new death reported in the province, the death toll remains at 102. There were no new recoveries reported as well as patients recovered from the deadly disease remained at 4,805.
