“To date in this fiscal year, they are up 24 percent compared to last year. This is a record for our country and I thank our overseas Pakistanis,” the Prime Minister said.
Imran Khan also shared good news from the industrial sector. He said that the industrial sector shows sustained growth too.
“Large scale manufacturing saw another double digit growth month in December 2020 - 11.4 percent growth versus Dec 2019. Cumulative July to Dec growth above 8 percent now,” the Prime Minister said.
It may be mentioned here that the remittances are above $2 billion despite the Covid-related global economic slowdown owing to a number of factors including formal money transfer channels among Pakistani migrants and more investment by the expatriate Pakistanis back in the country in construction and real-estate activities.
