Police in Muzaffarabad, capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), on Tuesday resorted to baton-charging and arrested several students of the Muzaffarabad University who were protesting against the university administration for denying them the option of taking exams online, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Even after police dispersed them, they reemerged in the shape of groups and marched towards the press club.

The students pelted the police with stones in response to baton-charging, while the police laid siege to the university’s city campus.

The university administration, on the other hand, is of the view that there was no justification for online exams given improvement in the coronavirus situation.

Later, the students staged a protest sit-in outside the deputy commissioner’s office demanding released of their colleagues.
