Protesters in Nawabshah end sit-in after ‘successful’ talks

People belonging to the Bhind tribe, protesting against the killings of five members of their community for the last three days, ended their sit-in on the national highway in Nawabshah (Sindh) on Tuesday following successful negotiations with the administration, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Later, the protestors buried their dead at Ismael Bhind village after their funeral prayers, which were attended by a large number of people, including politicians, social workers and office-bearers of nationalist parties. 

Talking to 24News, SSP Shaheed Benazirabad district Ameer Saud Magsi said that accepting the Bhind tribe’s demand, a case had been registered under section 302 of the PPC in which 13 members of the Zardari tribe had been nominated. “We assured the protestors that the police would arrest the killers of their tribesmen within three days,” he said, adding that 390 acres of agricultural land had also been registered in the name of the Bhind tribe, whose five members had been murdered three days ago over a property dispute.
