Folk singer Malkoo, who gained immense popularity after his songs supporting Imran Khan went viral, revealed that he earned thousands of dollars from them.

Asked if any top PTI leader contacted him after the success of Nak Da Koka, he said: "No PTI top-tier leader ever called me after Nak Da Koka became a hit… Never. And I don’t even have such a desire."

He described PTI office-bearers as opportunists, stating:"Except Imran Khan, PTI is filled with opportunists and fair-weather friends. They are using Imran’s name and fame to further their own political careers. All of them are doing so."

Malkoo also shared that he released the second version of Nak Da Koka considering the massive popularity of PTI’s founder.

Criticizing major platforms like Coke Studio, he accused them of favouritism and depriving struggling artists of opportunities. He expressed his disappointment with the industry’s lobbying culture and revealed that he provides his studio to help struggling artists record their songs.

"It hurts when a struggler is denied a chance. I have been through such situations many times, and I don’t want anyone else to experience the same. I built my studio to break this lobbyism," he said.

Malkoo became emotional while recalling his late mother’s words that he would one day become a star. Calling his success a dream come true, he attributed his achievements to his unwavering faith in the Almighty.

He also mentioned writing songs for various singers, including Jawad Ahmad. He shared that he used to sell his compositions to earn money for producing his own songs.

Speaking about his time with Jawad Ahmad, he praised Jawad’s parents for their kindness and affection. However, he expressed disappointment over Jawad’s views on success and faith.

"Jawad Ahmad once told me that the Almighty does not make stars – success is purely science. That statement hurt me deeply. I want to tell him that this is the Almighty who makes people stars," Malkoo asserted.

He also recalled another remark by Jawad Ahmad: "A donkey will never become a horse, no matter how hard it works."

Malkoo admitted that these words deeply affected him, as he strongly believed in perseverance and faith.
