Two workers die as powerful blast rips through Gujranwala factory

Two workers died while three others injured when a powerful blast ripped through a metal factory in Gujranwala and triggered a huge fire on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, six fire brigade vehicles were on the scene trying to douse the flames in Hafeez Metal Factory located on Khiyali Road in Jinnah Colony of Gujranwala.

After the explosion, the fire engulfed big part of the factory and the workers ran out.

Rescue personnel shifted the dead bodies and the injured to DHQ hospital.

One of the deceased was identified as Rehan while the police was trying to identify the other victim.

Rescue officials said the blaze has almost been brought under control while the police have launched an investigation into the incident.
