11 killed, 15 injured in Khairpur road accident

As many as 11 passengers were killed and 15 others injured when a passenger bus collided with a trailer on the National Highway near Tando Masti in Khairpur district, Sindh, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

Rescue sources said the bodies of the deceased and the injured were being transferred to Gims Hospital, Gambat, and Civil Hospital in Khairpur.

The driver and conductor of the passenger bus also died on the spot.

According to rescue officials, the passenger bus was travelling from Punjab to Karachi. The accident occurred due to high speed.

The identification process of eleven persons who lost their lives in the horrific road accident today in Khairpur was completed.

All these persons were belonged to Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur and Och Sharif.

 Later, the dead bodies of all these were sent to the native village for burial.

Meanwhile, Sindh IG Javed Alam Odho directed Khairpur SSP to send police to the accident site. He instructed that all rescue operations be carried out effectively.

The IG also emphasised that roads be kept clear during the transfer of the injured to hospitals.
