Lahore Division wins Punjab Pink Games 2026
The closing ceremony of the Khelta Punjab Pink Games 2026, the largest women’s sporting event in Punjab, concluded in Lahore with Lahore Division crowned overall champions.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Faisalabad secured second place while Multan finished third in the five-day competition that saw record participation from across the province.
Provincial Minister for Sports Faisal Ayub Khokhar distributed prizes among the winning athletes and announced scholarships for medalists under the Khelta Punjab Endowment Fund.
He said gold medalists would receive a monthly stipend of Rs100,000, adding that overall prizes exceeding Rs7 million were distributed, with an additional Rs20 million to be awarded by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
The minister credited the success of the Games to the leadership of the Chief Minister and praised the efforts of the Sports Board of Punjab for their dedication and teamwork.
He said that initiatives taken by the provincial government had ensured equal opportunities for girls from tehsils across Punjab, bringing 3,400 athletes to Lahore this year compared to 1,300 participants last year.
Highlighting future plans, Faisal Ayub Khokhar announced that new stadiums, courts and tracks would be constructed in the International Sports City to further promote sports in the province.
He described the Pink Games as an unprecedented event in scale and significance, stating that such a large women’s sports festival had not previously been organized in any province.
He added that improved law and order had created an enabling environment for sporting activities and pledged that next year’s Pink Games would be held on an even larger and more impressive scale.
Vice Chairman Malik Suleman, Sports Coordinator Malik Anosh Khokhar and Director General Sports Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry were also present at the ceremony, which celebrated what officials described as a milestone in women’s sports development in Punjab.
