Punjab police arrests 16,881 proclaimed offenders

Punjab police arrested 16, 881 proclaimed offenders in different crackdowns during the year 2025-26, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
A spokesman of Punjab police said that 5495 accused who were included in the A category and 11,384 of the B category were arrested while 5355 court fugitives were arrested.
1161 of the A category and 4194 of the B category of court offenders were also arrested. The spokesman said that 777 were accused of the A category, 1766 habitual offenders of B category were arrested.
3057 proclaimed offenders, 1204 court offenders, and 757 habitual offenders were arrested from Lahore, the spokesman concluded as saying.
 Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Punjab Rao Abdul Karim lauded the Punjab police for arresting proclaimed and court offenders.
He said that police officials should keep in close contact with the victims. He further directed all RPOs and DPOs to supervise the operations themselves.
