Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar visited the shrine of Hazrat Ali Hajveri (RA), popularly known as Data Darbar here on Sunday evening, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He prayed there for the prosperity and sovereignty of the country. On the occasion, Ishaq Dar along with the management of the shrine laid a chadar and floral wreath on the shrine and recited Fatiha.
The Dabar is considered to be the most sacred place in Lahore. The shrine has emerged a major economic, political, and social centre in Lahore and is one of the only places in Lahore where the extremely rich and extremely poor share space together.
Following the establishment of a shrine dedicated to Hujwiri, his tomb was visited by Muslims and non-Muslims in search of his blessings. Illustrious figures such as Baba Farid, Moinuddin Chishti, Nizamuddin Auliya, Dara Shikoh, and Allama Iqbal all paid obeisance to the shrine and pledged allegiance to Hujwiri. Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar were frequent visitors to the shrine.
Ishaq Dar contributed a lot to the expansion and renovation of the shrine during the 1990s era.
