Three different prime ministers of Caribbean Islands have congratulated the Windies captain for winning the first of the three Test matches in England.

Mia Mottley was the first from Barbados, who on Tuesday, congratulated Holder on a zoom talk arranged by cricket commentator Andrew Mason on a Guest cricket show, made available to this reporter before being released on Wednesday night.

"I am very very proud of you Jason. After assuming my office (in May 2018) I was witness to your win against England at Bridgetown last year and you won us the Test match by an inning and while I was recalling the said Test, I became impatient to see when you make the winning run against the same opposition on Sunday", Mia Mottley said on a show.

"Your wisdom, discipline and maturity is remarkable and thus complete the mission".

The next to congratulate Holder was the Prime Minister of St. Vincent. Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, who said: "I am very happy with the victory and will remain in my memory for a couple of days. The cou8untry is enjoying the victory".

The prime minister also recalled the double hundred scored by Holder against England at Bridgetown last year.

Grenada's Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mithcell was the last on the show to congratulate the captain.

"Jason, this victory did not surprise me after seeing your team performance in the first innings. Your team discipline and approach to the game and bowling was simply superb".

The PM also praised England's acting captain Ben Strokes and said he respects him a lot.

The team is scheduled to return home on 29th July after the final Test scheduled to be over on 28th July.  Members of the team from Barbados are likely to attend Everton Weeks' funeral which has been rescheduled and will now be held on 30th July.
