After an increase of Rs5 per kilogram, the official price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in the country has now surpassed Rs160 per kilogram, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

And if that was not enough, police patronage has pushed its price further up to Rs165 per kilogram, LPG Distributors Association Pakistan Chairman Irfan Khokhar told 24News.
He further said wherever the gas was available at exorbitant rates, it was under the nose of police officials.
“After an increase of Rs60 per kilogram, each LPG cylinder for domestic use now costs Rs1,950 per kilogram, while the price of cylinder used for commercial purposes has been upped by Rs225 following which it is now being sold at the rate of Rs7,490 per kilogram,” Khokhar disclosed.
He regretted that the only thing which was cheaper in Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ‘Naya Pakistan’ was now available at markets at double prices. “Now the price of LPG cylinder will increase on a daily basis,” he said.
He informed that LPG Distributors Association Pakistan’s decision to go for a strike on July 31 was final.
