ANP announces support to MQM candidates in LG elections

A more than 30 years old enmity has been ended on Friday as the Awami National Party (ANP), a strong voice of the Pakhtun vote bank in Karachi announced support for Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in upcoming local government elections in the city.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the ANP Sindh head Shahi Syed and MQM leader Waseem Akhtar held a joint press conference and announced to support each other in LG polls.
Shahi Syed while addressing the media persons said that Karachi is the highest tax-paying city in the country and they will contest local body elections together with the MQM.
Waseem Akhtar while talking to the media thanked the ANP for supporting his party, the MQM’s candidates. He expressed a hope that the Pakhtun brothers will vote for MQM in by-elections too.
