The Islamabad High Court Monday issued an order restraining the arrest of Sanam Javed until Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During the hearing, Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb instructed Sanam Javed to remain home and silent, with the court also mandating that she stay within the jurisdiction of Islamabad until the specified date.
The hearing, led by Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb, was initiated following a request for Sanam Javed's release filed by her father.
Barrister Mian Ali Ashfaq, representing Sanam Javed's father, appeared before the court, with Sanam Javed also present in the courtroom after court ordered her production in an earlier hearing on the day.
IG Islamabad Ali Nasir Rizvi, along with FIA officials and Balochistan police representatives, attended the hearing.
Sanam Javed's lawyer contended that she was repeatedly detained by Islamabad police without any FIR filed against her. When queried by Justice Aurangzeb if she was detained, her lawyer confirmed that she was detained outside her office.
The Advocate General of Islamabad noted that the Balochistan Police had requested the trasit remand of Sanam Javed.
Earlier, the IHC ordered the police not to shift diehard PTI worker Sanam Earlier Javed to any other city from Islamabad.
Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb also directed the IGP Islamabad and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) director general to appear in the court in person at 5:30 in the evening today. The judge also ordered the police to produce Sanam at the same time in the court.
In his petition, Sanam’s father prayed to the IHC to order the police to produce his daughter in court today.
He further requested the court to order the immediate release of Sanam from illegal detention.
Besides that, the petitioner also sought details of the cases registered against his daughter as well as the court order to stop any action against her.
Earlier in the day, Islamabad Police handed over Sanam Javed to Balochistan Police.
Sources said Sanam was produced in G-11 district court where the judge granted transit remand of her, handing her over to the Balochistan Police. Following that, she was taken to Balochistan.
The PTI worker, who had been acquitted by a district and sessions court in Islamabad on Sunday in the case filed against her for tweeting anti-state content, was rearrested hours after she was released.
Confirming the re-arrest on social media, her lawyer Ashfaq stated that Islamabad police had taken ‘Miss Javed into custody’.
He emphasized the importance of cooperating with the law-enforcement agencies and said they had handed her over without resistance.
