The District and Sessions Courts Islamabad Tuesday extended former first lady Bushra Bibi's bail and deferred the cases of former premier Imran Khan till September 9, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the details, Additional Sessions Judge Amir Zia presided over a hearing in a case lodged in Ramna Police Station, concerning a protest held on November 26, involving Bushra Bibi.
Her legal team, including Khalid Yousaf, Ansar Kayani, and Shamsa Kayani, appeared before the court on her behalf and formally requested an exemption from her in-person court appearance.
Following a thorough review, the court extended Bushra Bibi’s interim bail until the 9th of September, thereby prolonging her legal protection in the protest case.
On the other hand, Additional District and Sessions Judge Afzal Majoka on Tuesday heard six bail pleas filed by the founder of PTI and one by Bushra Bibi in a separate case.
The proceedings on the PTI founder’s petitions, however, saw no progress due to his persistent nonappearance in court.
No compliance was ensured, despite the court’s directive requiring the Founder PTI to appear, either in person or via video link, as a result of which the proceedings were disrupted once again, and the court deferred all bail hearings to September 9, including Bushra Bibi’s.
The founder of PTI, who is currently implicated in a total of five cases involving charges of protest-related offences, rioting, and attempted murder, was represented by Advocate Khalid Yousaf Chaudary in court.
Additionally, separate FIRs have been lodged against both the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi over allegations of submitting forged receipts in the Toshakhana case.
