Naked excise officer storms Larkana Hospital's emergency ward

Panic struck the emergency ward of Chandka Hospital Larkana when a drunk and naked government employee from the Excise Department stormed into the facility, hurling abuse at doctors, patients, and visitors, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.

According to the report, the man, later identified by police as Shahid Asran, a serving Assistant Excise and Taxation Officer (AETO) from Qambar, entered the emergency unit in a visibly intoxicated and fully naked state, shouting obscenities and threatening everyone around.

Eyewitnesses reported that the man aggressively threw chairs, abused medical staff, and claimed to be a senior police officer, yelling, “I am the SP of Larkana, and I won’t spare anyone!”

Patients, attendants, and hospital staff quickly overpowered him and subjected him to a brief beating before handing him over to the police. The incident caused widespread chaos and fear in the hospital, especially in the emergency section.

According to law enforcement sources, Shahid Asran previously served a 12-year prison sentence in connection with a relative’s murder case. After his arrest, he was moved to the Civil Lines Police Station and placed in custody.

Authorities say a full investigation is now underway, and disciplinary action is expected from the Excise & Taxation Department in light of the embarrassing and disruptive behaviour of one of its officials.
