Federal ministers, key parliamentarians’ huge assets exposed

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday unveiled the details of the assets of the federal ministers and key parliamentarians.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain owned assets worth over Rs1.6 billion. He has declared assets of Rs83.8 million and an investment of Rs1.7 billion in his returns.

Ch Salik Hussain has owned a car worth Rs16.3 million and has a bank balance of Rs435.4 million.

While his cousin, Chaudhry Moonis Elahi turned out to be the owner of assets worth Rs1.42 billion owning a property total worth Rs191.8 million.

As per the report, Moonis Elahi has invested Rs730 million while the value of his car is Rs27 million and the bank balance is more than Rs21 million. Moonis Elahi is a debtor of Rs180 million. His wife owned assets worth Rs70 million.

Home Minister Rana Sanaullah disclosed assets worth Rs 150 million while former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi owned assets worth Rs149.1 million only.

Opposition Leader in National Assembly Raja Riaz owned assets worth Rs20 million. He is a debtor of Rs13.9 million.

Former minister Fawad Chaudhry's assets are worth more than Rs90 million and he is a debtor of Rs10 million. He has also disclosed the assets of his both wives in the returns.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif owned assets worth Rs70 million and has shown foreign currency of 250,000 dirhams in terms of consultancy.

Federal Minister Tariq Bashir Cheema has shown an increase of Rs69.1 million in his assets which have now reached at worth Rs179.9 million.

Zartaj Gul has shown her total assets of Rs16.9 million and owned 35 tola gold. Faryal Talpur has declared her husband Munawar Talpur’s assets worth Rs62.9 million while Munawar Talpur has mentioned assets of his wife Faryal Talpur worth Rs240 million.

The late Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Amir Liaquat Hussain had declared his assets of Rs30 million. 

Federal Minister Shazia Murree has declared only 25 tola gold in her assets while Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb showed assets of only Rs3.2 million.

Education Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain owned assets worth Rs240 million while Javed Latif has declared assets worth Rs45 million only.

Ahsan Iqbal has declared the assets worth Rs20 million while Amir Sultan Cheema owned assets worth Rs377.6 million.

Farrukh Habib's assets are worth Rs3.1 million while Hamad Azhar turned out to be the owner of assets worth Rs630 million.

Federal Minister Sardar Ayaz Sadiq owned assets worth Rs240 million while Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique has assets worth over Rs130 million.

Syed Fakhar Imam owned assets worth Rs220 million while Ahmed Hussain Dehr has assets worth Rs2.5 billion and Makhdoom Samiul Hassan Gilani turned out to be the owner of assets worth Rs1.13 billion.

Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar owned assets worth Rs 250 million, Muhammad Mian Soomro Rs29.9 million, Minister for Water Resources Syed Khurshid Shah Rs76.2 million, Nafisa Shah Rs31.1 million, Federal Minister Syed Naveed Qamar Rs78.2 million, Health Minister Qadir Patel Rs20 million, MQM Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui Rs13.9 million, Zeb Jaffer Rs90 million, Shireen Mazari Rs20 million and Kanwal Shauzeb Rs80 million.
