PAC’s letter to President Biden denies rumours about rights violations in Pakistan

The Pakistani American Congress (PAC) wrote to United States (US) President Joe Biden a letter denying the rumours about human rights violations in Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

“The relationship between Pakistan and the US has always been based on mutual respect, democracy and human dignity,” the PAC wrote in the letter.

“Recently we have come to know that some elements have accused Pakistan of human rights violations which are completely baseless and based on misinformation and vested interest of those elements,” the PAC further wrote in the letter.

The PAC also informed the US president of the May 9 incidents stating: “We would like to recall the tragic incident that took place in Pakistan on May 9 when hundreds of miscreants attacked the country.”

The letter stated: “The symbols of Pakistan’s unity were destroyed, and national institutions were vandalised [on May 9].”

The PAC also made it clear to President Biden that: “May 9 tragedy was an organised conspiracy. It was not the act of an accident but the result of a long plan to weaken Pakistan internally.”

In the letter, the PAC described to the US president the details of the wicked events that took place on May 9. It said: “On May 9, 2023, there was a plan to create discord and distance between the people of Pakistan and the Pakistan Army through organised violence.”

It added: “Legal proceedings against those involved in criminal activities were carried out within the framework of democratic traditions and principles.”

The PAC’s letter referred to the January 6, 2021 attack on Washington DC, and described how these attackers and miscreants were dealt with an iron hand and declared extremely dangerous.

The letter clarified: “It is certain that no innocent person has been arrested, but those involved in violence and terrorism will have to go through the strictest legal process to reach their culpability."

At the end of the letter, the PACE resolved: "We, the Pakistani American Congress executives and BOT members, pledge that we will coordinate with the US Senate and House of Representatives to present the facts to each and every decision-making member. We will act proactively and immediately against this baseless anti-Pakistan propaganda campaign. We will steadfastly protect Pakistan’s interests and make every possible effort to improve and strengthen Pakistan-US relations.”
