Aimal Wali slams violations of constitution, urges people to wake up

Senator Aimal Wali Khan of the Awami National Party (ANP) on Monday strongly criticized what he described as repeated violations of the Constitution in Pakistan, warning that the country is facing a serious governance crisis and urging the public to “wake up” and demand their rights.

Aimal said that while recent developments were being presented as positive, real relief for the people was still missing. He congratulated citizens in general terms but stressed that expectations of price reductions and economic relief had not materialized.

“The government should reduce prices as seriously as this peace has been made,” he remarked, questioning whether any meaningful improvement had reached the public after major political or security developments.

He said that the situation of the country was alarming and asked what had actually been “kept for the nation” in the latest budget. He criticized economic planning, suggesting that ordinary citizens were still struggling despite official claims of progress.

Aimal alleged that the Constitution was being violated in the country, stating that Pakistan was facing a serious institutional imbalance. He said that in other nations, people would have actively mobilized for their rights under similar circumstances.

“The nation must wake up,” he said, adding that citizens should not remain passive in the face of worsening conditions. He remarked that instead of an ordinary protest, the situation demanded a broader movement for change.

His comments come amid ongoing political debate over governance, economic pressure and constitutional matters in the country.
