Ali Safina denies fuelling Meerub and Asim split
Pakistani actor and television host Ali Safina has finally addressed the viral speculation linking him to the breakup rumors surrounding actress Meerub Ali and singer Asim Azhar. The actor clarified that a lighthearted moment from his podcast was taken out of context and had nothing to do with the couple’s personal life.
During a recent television appearance, Safina was asked about the widespread belief that a question he posed to Meerub Ali on his podcast had fueled breakup rumors.
The host jokingly remarked, “People say Ali Safina caused someone’s breakup. When I looked into it, I found claims that you mentioned Hania Aamir during a conversation with Meerub, and that somehow led to all the speculation.”
Responding to the claims, Ali Safina firmly denied any involvement.
“That's absolutely not true. We are all very good friends. At the time, I was shooting a podcast and Meerub is a friend of mine. We've worked together and share a great bond. I casually asked a question in a playful manner, and she answered it while laughing. That was it. There was nothing beyond that,” he explained.
Safina's clarification comes after months of online discussions connecting a viral podcast clip to rumors surrounding the former engagement of Asim Azhar and Meerub Ali.
The actor emphasized that the interaction was purely friendly and humorous, adding that social media users often draw conclusions that are far removed from reality.

For the unversed, Pakistani singer Asim Azhar and actress-influencer Meerub Ali were previously engaged before eventually parting ways. While neither publicly discussed the details behind their separation, their breakup became a major talking point across social media platforms.
In recent months, Asim Azhar has also been the subject of dating rumors involving actress Hania Aamir, though neither star has officially confirmed any relationship.
