Pakistan emerged as global player in recent Iran-US war: Malaysian envoy

Malaysian High Commissioner to Pakistan Muhammad Azhar Mazlan on Monday praised Pakistan’s mediatory role in the recent Iran–US dispute, saying that Pakistan has emerged as a global player in promoting peace. He remarked that Pakistan is no longer merely a regional player but has become a significant global actor.

Speaking at an event held at the Malaysian High Commission, Azhar Mazlan said that another important achievement of Pakistan was the announcement of the schedule for the forthcoming signing of a reconciliation agreement between Iran and the United States.

He added that Malaysia appreciates the role Pakistan has played on the global stage. Malaysia also commends the diplomatic efforts of Pakistan, Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and other countries aimed at facilitating dialogue between the parties.

The Malaysian high commissioner emphasized that Malaysia and Pakistan enjoy strong and positive bilateral relations. He stated that Malaysia wishes to be a partner in Pakistan’s development. According to him, both countries share similar visions and objectives regarding peace, development and prosperity.
