Pakistan played historic role in peace efforts, says Khawaja Asif

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Monday said Pakistan had played a historical role in promoting peace, adding that the nation should take pride in the country's recent diplomatic achievements.

Speaking to media representatives outside Parliament House, Asif said Pakistan's political and military leadership had attained a distinguished position in the country's 78-year history through their contribution to both peace and security.

He praised the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, saying their roles had gained international recognition. "The personalities of the prime minister and the field marshal have emerged globally," he remarked.

The defence minister said that within a single year, both leaders had achieved notable milestones. "One has proved his role in war and the other in peace," he said, adding that the international community was increasingly recognizing the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Commenting on regional issues, Asif expressed optimism regarding developments related to Kashmir. He said there was hope for improvement in Kashmir affairs and reiterated that the Kashmir issue remained closely linked to Pakistan.

The minister's remarks came amid ongoing diplomatic engagements and discussions on regional peace and security.
