Renowned Islamic scholar Mufti Abdul Qayyum Hazarvi passes away

Prominent Islamic scholar and jurist Mufti Abdul Qayyum Khan Hazarvi has passed away, leaving behind a rich legacy of religious scholarship, teaching and service to Islam, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday. 

Mufti Abdul Qayyum Khan Hazarvi served as the head of the Dar-ul-Ifta at Minhaj-ul-Quran International Lahore and was widely respected as a teacher of Islamic sciences and jurisprudence.

Over the years, he trained thousands of students who are now serving Islam in Pakistan and abroad.

The late scholar had been associated with the College of Shariah and Islamic Sciences for the past 38 years, where he devoted his life to teaching and mentoring future generations of religious scholars.

According to Minhaj-ul-Quran, his funeral prayer will be offered after Maghrib prayers on Monday at the organization's central secretariat.

The funeral prayer will be led by Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed profound grief and sorrow over the scholar’s demise, paying tribute to his lifelong contributions to Islamic education, jurisprudence and religious guidance.
