Pakistan reports 2,253 new coronavirus cases, 29 deaths
Pakistan reported 2,253 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours (Sunday), the latest data from the National Command and Control (NCOC) shows.
According to the NCOC, the positivity ration of the coronavirus in the country has reached 5.1 percent.
There were 29 more causalities related to the deadly disease as the death toll due to coronavirus has reached 13,537 that represents a ratio of 2.2%.
According to the latest figures, 1,592 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 44,061 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 607,453 that returned positive after conducting 9,529,763 total tests so far.
The number of active cases in the country is 22,038 with 1,823 patients in critical condition.
There were 1,307 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 571,878 with a 94.1% recovery rate.
Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 1,191 new cases in the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 186,659 with 10,195 active cases. In Punjab, 16 more patients died of coronavirus as the death toll reached 5,769. With 943 new recoveries, 170,695 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.
The most affected province Sindh has recorded 232 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 261,411 with 4,240 active cases. In Sindh, 5 more patients died of the deadly disease as the death toll reached 4,458. With 39 new recoveries, 252,713 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 379 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 76,104 with 3,290 active cases. The province reported 6 new virus-related deaths as the death toll reached 2,159. With 141 new recoveries, 70,655 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Balochistan has recorded another 14 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 19,220 with 137 active cases. The province reported no new death as the death toll remained at 202. With 13 new recoveries, 18,881 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Islamabad has recorded 371 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 48,081 with 3,403 active cases. With 2 new deaths reported in the Federal Capital as the virus death toll reached 526. With 109 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 44,152in the federal capital so far.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir
Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 65 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 11,017 with 771 active cases. With no new deaths reported, the death toll remains at 320. There were 62 new recoveries in the AJK as 9,926 patients have recovered so far from the virus.
Gilgit-Baltistan recorded one new case during the last 24 hours, as the tally reached at 4,961 with 2 active cases. No new death reported in the province, the death toll remains at 103. There were no new recoveries reported as well as patients recovered from the deadly disease remained at 4,856.
