Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed on Tuesday said he would be responsible if any member of the National Assembly (MNA) was stopped from voting on the no-trust motion, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to the media, he also claimed that the ‘establishment’ was with the government. “They are with Pakistan and democracy,” Rasheed commented.

Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) President and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman should understand that there was no room for the ‘Maula Jatt’ type of politics in the country.

He advised Fazl to exercise restraint and refrain from spreading ‘anarchy’, saying still if he resorted to violence, he would have to pay for that. “The government will crush the agents of imperialist forces,” he vowed.

“It is after 14 years that the OIC meeting is scheduled to be held in Islamabad. And the Chinese interior minister is also due to visit,” Rasheed said, adding in these circumstances it became more imperative to avoid confrontation.

He was of the view that the opposition parties’ hullabaloo had strengthened the government.

The minister also claimed that all allies of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government in the Center would support it against the no-trust motion. “Truth of the matter is that all these allied parties are standing by the PTI firm like a rock,” he added.

He regretted that the opposition parties were offering money and other benefits to the PTI lawmakers as well as those of allied parties in order to buy their loyalties ahead of the no-trust motion
