Disclosing that some of the party members of the National Assembly (MNAs) had received notices from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in recent days, former prime minister and PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said on Tuesday that he wanted to make it clear to the NAB that issuing notices at a time when voting on the no-confidence motion against the PTI government was just few days away, would have consequences, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Khaqan Abbasi warned that the NAB has nothing to do with the no-confidence motion process.

Speaking to the media outside an accountability court (AC) in Islamabad, he said when somebody had nothing to say in his defence, he started calling his opponents names.

He told the government in clear and categorical terms that even if it gathered one million people at Islamabad’s D-Chowk, it could not prevent the no-trust motion from being tabled in the National Assembly (NA). “You will have to pay for the threats you are hurling these days,” he warned.

Abbasi dared the government to stop the MNAs from entering the assembly’s building on the voting day if it had the courage to do so.

Former prime minister was of the view that whichever government talked about street agitation against the opposition, had, in fact, failed to deliver to the masses.

He congratulated the people of Punjab in a satirical tone that they had Usman Buzdar as chief minister of their province.
