The opposition Tuesday announced filing a petition in Islamabad High Court (IHC) for peaceful voting for the no-confidence motion, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar said — after biometric verification in the IHC — that what happened in the Parliament lodges and the type of speeches being delivered by the government ministers had raised fears of a possible clash on the day of voting for the no-confidence motion.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri blamed the government for hurling threats at the opposition to bar the latter from casting votes in the no-confidence motion.

He termed it an open challenge to the writ of the state.

“We will politically inflict such a historic defeat upon the government that it will always remember,” he vowed.

“Whatever the decision may be will now be taken in the Parliament,” he stated.
